The Back-Story
How it all got startedDigitera is the result of a partnership between a young dynamic team and professionals from established companies with over 20 years of experience in the IT Consulting field for the European Institutions.
Plans to develop the new company emerged in early 2014 when Stefano and Tiago, our two founders, started working together. Tiago was working as a strategy consultant, advising start-ups and companies in the IT field, and Stefano, CEO of CRI Group, had a great number of ideas which he wanted to pursue. He proposed that Tiago joined CRI Group so that the two could explore these new opportunities together. After about a year of research and market tests, they gathered all the improvements that they could bring to the field of IT Consulting and finally opened Digitera in April 2015. Stefano kept a role of external advisor and business angel, and Tiago stayed on as General Manager to oversee day-to-day operations and the development of Digitera.
The Growth
From April 2015 onwardThe company was officially founded in April 2015 as a subsidiary of CRI Group, our mothership, but operates as a wholly independent entity managed by the Digitera team. In practical terms, this means that Digitera benefits from the experience, contracts, business relations and support of an organization present in the market for over 35 years, but still has the freedom and flexibility of a start-up. This unique set-up brings the best of both worlds - an organization which is both lean and experienced, without the rigidity of traditional structures present in the market.
After operating for just about 2 years, Digitera’s team has already grown past 50 people and the adventure is by no means finished. There’s still a long list of improvements in store, and we hope you’ll join us on the journey.
